Queensferry Medical Practice

In 1989 Queensferry Medical Practice occupied a small single storey surgery on the corner of Pierce Street and Fairfield Road. The Practice urgently needed more space but were reluctant to move from what was a quiet and very central location for their patients. Our solution was to keep the two existing consulting rooms in place and introduce a completely new, two storey block at right angles in the centre of the building. This provided a third consulting room and transformed the reception and administration facilities.

Eight years later the Practice had expanded its patient role and was also converting to independent fund holding status. Space was under pressure again. As chance would have it the end-of-terrace house on the opposite corner of Pierce Street came on the market at the same time. Our feasibility study demonstrated that by adding an extension to match in style the first phase we could provide all of the facilities needed under the new regime.
