Stanlaw Abbey

Children's Centre

Completed in March 2005, Stanlaw Abbey Children’s Centre is the first Children’s Centre in Cheshire to be developed under the Government’s Sure Start programme.

Mainly working in disadvantaged areas, Sure Start provides enhanced childcare provision, education, health and family support services for children under five. Not only will this give these children a better start in life, but it will improve the lives of their parents and the local community as a whole.

Located to the rear of Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet Village, the Centre is accommodated in a former primary school building, which has undergone a complete internal refurbishment to create accessible, welcoming, flexible and inspirational spaces.

The central reception acts as a social space and provides visual and physical links to the main areas of the centre. These include a 65-place nursery providing full day care services, four consultation rooms, two multi purpose spaces, a ’Starting Point’ adult learning facility, Sure Start offices and a community café.
